GABRIEL IKEJI

MANAGING PARTNER

GABRIEL IKEJI is a law graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife and a Barrister & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He also hold a master degree from the prestigious BPP School of Law (Holborn) London.

He previously worked in the firm of The Law Crest (Legal Practitioners) for seven years where he garnered ample experience in various aspects of the business of law.

He specialized in Project Finance and infrastructure Development, mergers, acquisitions and takeovers, Real Estate & Construction, Electricity licensing and regulation, oil and gas, Investment, intellectual property, Labour & Employment and has attended several courses and seminars in his area of specialization including a Certification in Drafting Commercial Agreements and Banking Documentation from the Nigerian Institute of Advance Legal Studies (NIALS). He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (U.K) Nigeria Chapter.

In the course of his practice, Mr. Ikeji has been involved in several complex transactions including the following; was part of a team that advised foreign investors in their proposed acquisition of equity interest in an Oil Prospecting Licence in the Anambra Basin of Nigeria; Was part of a team that advised an IOC in their proposed bid to acquire Shell Exploration’s divested assets in 2011 and has at various times been part of teams that advised on several Farm-in Agreements into existing Oil Mining Leases in Nigeria; He acted as lead licensing and regulatory advisor to Residential Power Supply Plc in its proposed non-captive generation of electricity in Lagos and currently provides regulatory advisory to a number of downstream oil companies in Nigeria; he has represented clients engaged in oil distribution in LPFO supply agreements with major cement companies across Nigeria, in various petroleum product importation/ marketing Joint ventures, Throughput Agreements and Petroleum Tank Farm leases;  he has over the years acted for various clients in their acquisition bids of other  companies and was part of the team that advised on the acquisition of a major Nigerian food manufacturing company by a foremost South African conglomerate; He also acted for a regional investment Fund in the finance injection and restructuring of a Nigerian manufacturing company; was appointed legal and regulatory auditor to a Nigerian investment company in its proposed $28 Million acquisition of a foremost department store in Lagos; He was member of a team that advised the concessionaires of the Lagos International trade Fair on the implementation of the Concession Agreement; has over the years participated in the project finance of several luxury residential complexes in the Highbrow areas of Lagos, to the tune of over $250 Million amongst others.

MICHELE IHEUKUMERE

PARTNER

Michele Iheukumere studied Law at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife, Osun State. While at Ife, she distinguished herself and was selected to participate in the International Moot Court Trial on International Humanitarian Law, in Arusha, Tanzania, sponsored by the International Red Cross Society. She thereafter attended the Nigerian Law School and was called to the Bar in November, 2005.

In 2006, she interned with the law firm of Jackson, Etti and Edu in Lagos, where she worked in the corporate commercial department, undertaking tasks such as the conduct of due diligence activities to merging and restructuring companies, corporate filings, proposals in response to expressions of interests amongst other legal functions.
In 2007, she was approached and hired by Crescent Oil & Chemical Services Ltd in Abuja, to work as Legal Counsel. Her responsibilities included provision of general legal advisory services, company secretarial duties, provision of support services on notable projects such as farm-in arrangements in Nigerian oil fields, the Port Harcourt Refinery, Kaduna Refinery and the NITEL privatization transactions.
She holds a master Laws degree from the University of London (Queen Mary) specializing in Corporate Commercial Law. She has being with Brockwell Practice from inception.

OLANREWAJU OMOTAYO-OJO

Mr. Olanrewaju Omotayo-Ojo graduated in 2008 with a Law Degree from the University of Jos and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2009. Mr. Omotayo-Ojo also has a Masters degree in Law from the University of Jos.

He started his Law practice career with Funman Chambers before joining Ikongbeh & Anosike and Alfred & Darnley Solicitors all in Abuja. He has had a robust career covering a vast area within the corporate commercial sphere and possesses rich experience in regulatory compliance and advocacy.

OLUFISOLA BADA

ASSOCIATE

Mr. Bada graduated in 2015 with a Law Degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2017. He has certification in Drafting Commercial Agreements and Banking Documentation from Nigerian Institute of Advance Legal Studies (NIALS) and is certified by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) as an IP practitioner.

He started his Law practice career with the law firm Olawoyin & Olawoyin before joining Brockwell Practice in 2018.
